Ch-ch-changes

Oh man, how many changes have occurred in our lives, even since last October, when last I posted. Back in February 2009, Brian had an exacerbation that ultimately landed him in the hospital, and in August of '09, we made the extremely difficult decision to foreclose on the first home Brian and I purchased together and claim bankruptcy. It was a horrible year, to say the least. We found a rental to live in somewhat temporarily (we figured about 5 years to put the pieces of our credit back together), and moved in January 2010. Julian started kindergarten in the fall, and we lived directly across the street from the school, which made drop offs and pick ups extremely easy and convenient. In October 2010, our landlord informed us that he, too, was in danger of losing his home (yes, the one we were living in), so he was going to attempt to short sell it... while we lived there.... We endured several potential buyers traipsing through our modest home while we stayed and gawked, and yes, I'm sure it was just as awkward for them as it was for us. Finally, in December, we were told an offer was placed, and the viewings stopped, for the time being. in January, we made the decision to leave as soon as we could, and began the search for a new rental, this time using a professional real estate agent and management company. After seeing many "dumps" we settled on one that is much smaller, yet the cleanest of the bunch, and moved in mid-February. Here we are, the 4 of us, plus 2 very large dogs, sharing 1300 square feet somewhat successfully. Julian was tested for the school district's gifted program and was accepted. He starts his new adventure in the Fall. Also, Adia starts kindergarten in the fall. So you see, a lot has happened. My babies are growing up and we are...well... growing old. C'est la Vie.
